We’re looking at improvements for Kenwick Park, and we want to hear from you.

Kenwick Park is a key feature of Bright’s Grove, providing a central recreation space for individual and group uses ranging from pickleball / tennis to a weekly farmer’s market.

We’ve been maintaining park amenities, but, as some reach their end of life, we’re taking a look at the park as a whole. Specifically, we’re creating an overarching design for the park, blending current amenities with any potential additions, and ensuring that recommendations for work are included as part of Council’s annual budget decisions.

Background

On June 3, 2024 City Council passed a motion directing that we complete a park-wide plan with the community, including high level construction cost estimates and a recommended asset re-investment phasing plan.

We’ve retained an architect to draft a design for the park, and have engaged stakeholder and user groups, and now we’d like to hear from you, so any plans reflect the needs and vision of the community.

Potential improvements include:

  • New basketball court (prioritized due to end-of-life conditions)
  • Pathway connections throughout the park
  • New playground
  • Improved amenities for the Farmer’s Market Area

Provide your input

We want to hear from you. Complete the short survey below before 4:30 p.m. on September 5, 2025 to help us understand your current experiences with Kenwick Park, your preferred improvements and any additional insight you can provide. The survey includes the opportunity to provide open-ended commentary.

Once a draft design is finalized it will be presented to Council, with opportunity for further public input at that time. Use the subscribe widget on this page to sign up for updates.
