Consultation has concluded

At its meeting scheduled for Monday, January 18, 2021, Sarnia City Council will give consideration to the adoption of a Council and Employee Relations policy for the City of Sarnia.

The purpose of this Policy is to comply with section 270 of the Municipal Act, 2001 and to provide guidance to promote a productive and respectful interaction and relationship between Members of Council and employees of the City of Sarnia. This Policy applies to Members of Sarnia City Council and all City of Sarnia employees.

The principles of the proposed policy are to create an understanding of the importance of and the difference between Council’s political role and the employee’s operational role necessary for the provision of efficient, responsible, transparent and accountable municipal governments.
